RENCONTRES EUROPE ET INTERNATIONAL

Uncertainty surrounds the future of the European Union and its place in the world. The crisis set in motion a whole range of initiatives and institutional changes and in Europe, both at the EU28 and euro area levels. These now have to blossom into a solid and durable edifice.

A challenge is therefore to make sure that the next steps in European integration live up to the economic, institutional, political, social and governance challenges that Europe is facing.

In that context, CEPII and France Stratégie have launched a series of monthly events – lunchtalks - about Europe with the aim to bring together officials, academics, as well as practitioners and corporates around a relevant speaker selected for his relevance for European matters.

Monika Queisser
Cheffe de la division des politiques sociales, OCDE
Hervé Boulhol
Economiste principal,
retraites et vieillissement démographique, OCDE
Pierre-Louis Bras
Président, Conseil d’orientation des retraites (COR)
The health status and income levels of older people have improved over the last decades in ‎OECD and emerging countries. At the same time, there are growing risks of inequality among ‎future retirees.

‎A new OECD report, “Preventing Ageing Unequally”, analyses trends in life expectancy and ‎rising inequalities and explores how the experience of old age is going to change ‎dramatically for today’s younger generations. It also identifies policies to prevent, mitigate ‎and cope with the impact of these trends. Country notes are also available for Australia, ‎Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Monika Queisser, Head of Social Policy at the OECD, and ‎Hervé Boulhol, in charge of this report, will present the report, which will be then discussed ‎by Pierre-Louis Bras, president of the Pensions Advisory Council.‎

By invitation only.

The event will take place under the Chatham House Rule.
The presentations and discussion will be held in French and in English.
