WTFC provides harmonized unit values, and a classification of bilateral trade flows at the product level. Products are identified using the Harmonized System (HS), which is the standard nomenclature for international trade, used by most customs. We provide WTFC in the 1996 revision of the Harmonized System.

Each version of WTFC is identified by the year and the month of its release, under the form YYYYMM (202104 for the April 2021 release, for instance)
year identifies the year during which the recorded trade flows took place.
Each trade flow within WTFC is characterized by a combination exporter-importer-product-year. There are 9 variables:

All files are in CSV format, using commas as field delimiters, and dots as decimal separators. When reading the data, we advise you not to treat the product code (k) variable as numeric, this would remove the leading zeros of the HS codes.
price_range_chelem gives the value of trade in thousands of US dollars for the three different price ranges (High, Medium and Low), for each exporter, importer, year and group of product (industry) following the CHELEM nomenclature. There are 9 variables:
