Labour Market in Poland:
Diagnosis and Selected Proposals

During the last decade Poland enjoyed relatively high (annually slightly above 5 percent on average since 1992) and stable GDP growth. However, labour market developments have not followed that tendency. Unemployment reached high level and - despite some fluctuations - remained high throughout the entire decade.

The paper provides basic information on recent developments in the Polish labour market, discusses selected factors behind the current situation and formulates a number of policy recommendations. MORE...
