  Ageing, Skills and Labour Markets Meeting

The forecast demographic evolutions will have many impacts on labour markets in industrialised countries. Wages and unemployment, but also productivity, skills and retirement age decisions will be affected. These evolutions raise concerns for some categories of workers. The conference will discuss whether these impacts will be important enough to warrant evolutions of wage policies and rules such as retirement systems or state interventions; whether they will be felt differently by various age groups ; whether they will increase or not inequalities.
Papers for this workshop should deal with:
the measures of composition and structural impacts of demographic evolution on labour markets ;
the evolution of relative wages and unemployment rates between age groups ;
the evolution of the policy rules prevailing in the labour markets;
other related issues such as retirement decisions or employability of old workers, etc.
An occasional paper with policy recommendations based on the papers presented at this workshop will be published later.
