Deniz Ünal holds and MPhil equivalent in International Economics and Development from the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne). She is an economist with the CEPII.

Deniz Ünal is working closely with the network of the Forum of Euro-Mediterranean Economic Institutes (FEMISE) and the Groningen Growth and Development Centre (GGDC).

As part of her research on international productivity comparisons, Euro-Mediterranean relations and economic specialisations, Deniz Ünal-Kesenci is participating in the projects:
