| Moritz Schularick on: Credit and the Macroeconomy Academic presentation By invitation only |
|
Since the global financial crisis, and after decades of relative neglect, the importance of the financial system and credit dynamics as drivers of macroeconomic outcomes have attracted fresh scrutiny from academics, policymakers, and practitioners. Theoretical advances are largely driven by a fast-growing empirical literature. Recent long-run historical work has uncovered a range of important stylized facts concerning the role of credit in advanced economies, and this lecture provides an overview of the key findings.
