CEPII, Recherche et Expertise sur l'economie mondiale

  • As part of the CEPII’s research program, you will conduct academic research on international trade and participate to policy oriented studies, in particular (but not restricted to) on the patterns of countries specialization, the determinants of competitiveness, the assessment of trade barriers, or the impact of globalization on domestic economies.
  • You will be in charge of updating and developing CEPII’s databases (BACI, TUV...) and responsible for their dissemination to interested audiences; this work involves handling large multidimensional databases and requires proficiency in dedicated software (SAS, R).
  • You will contribute to collective reports for French and international administrations and disseminate the results of your research through various media: academic publications, policy columns or writings for a wider audience.
  • Interested in economic policy, you are willing to address current economic issues and develop your research interests in line with CEPII's research program.


Candidates should have:

  • a PhD or equivalent in International economics;
  • good knowledge of international trade theory and econometrics;
  • strong computer skills (Stata / SAS / R). Modeling skills would be appreciated.
  • a strong interest in international economic affairs and economic policy.

The ability to take responsibilities and personal commitment are essential in meeting the job requirements. The successful candidate is expected to be a committed team player, have excellent writing and speaking skills in English and be proficient in French.

Position starting on September 2019.

Status: 2-year contract.
